Hoi An cargo parrot bowl

Item Number: #166    Price: $ 1,250.00

This bowl is modeled as a parrot biting the edge of a half-peach bowl. Details are painted in underglaze blue of good tone. It was part of the giant number of ceramic items salvaged by Oxford University and Saga Horizon teams from a late 15th century shipwreck found off the coast of Vietnam. Its glaze retains a good luster despite seawater immersion. Measurements are 4cm hign X 9.5cm. Thee is no damage, but a small amound of kiln grit adheres to the bird's tail.
